INTRODUCTION TO CNC MACHINES

Posted by Tech in Way on 02:16
Numerical Control is the most sophisticated from of automatic control of a machine tool. Numerical control of machine tools, it is possible to remove errors in production. The cost of production is lowered. High product is maintained.

The machine tools like milling machines, lathes, boring machines, and press tools, planers and shapers can be operated by numerical control. All the operations of these machines is controlled in the required member by giving instruction to the machine tools. These instruction are in the from of numerical deta.

Professor Jhon T Parson applied numerical control to machine tools in 1950's. During that time; the control system was based on vacuum tube technology. Computer Numerical Control (CNC) was introduced in 1970'in the case the control system is build around a minor or microcomputer and all the logic functions are achieved by a set of software instruction. The present generation of cnc system is having large control and data processing power.

Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is the process environment, as controlled and allocated by a computerised controller that uses motors to drive each axis.the controller actually controls the direction, speed and length of times as each motor rotates.

A programmed path is loaded into the machine's computer by the operator and then executed. Numerical control (nc) is the original term given to this technology and today it is cnc.

A dedicated micro processor or mini computer on the machine control makes the computer numerical control, very popular, coupled with lots of other advantages.
